Making a GIF...

This photography class is teaching me more and more about the different things that you can create with photoshop and dreamweaver. Today we created a .gif file by using 3 to 5 different images.

"There's nothing you can do that can't be done
Nothing you can sing that can't be sung
Nothing you can say but you can learn how to play the game
It's easy

....
All you need is:"

Our second gif is a sequence of the same image but with different editing.

Exploring the World of Photoshop...

In class last week we worked on photoshop and explored how to change the color of one object in the photo and make the background black and white. The photo I chose to experiment on was one of the American Flag I took in Lake Tahoe, California over the summer.

Freezing Movement...

In class last week we worked on how to freeze movement and continued to work on our assignment for Action and Motion. After class I continued to work on the assignment and went to Wilkesboro, NC to allow my friends to assist me. We went to Smithey Creek Park off of HWY 421, which is a boat ramp and playground. My friend Katie asked one of her guy friends if he would come out and drive his Dodge Cummins (a diesel truck) up and down the parking lot. It took a while, but eventually I succeeded in capturing the Panning Motion shot that we needed for our assignment.
I was so excited when I managed to get the Truck in focus!

Not only did my friends help with the panning motion, but also the freeze motion.

And the Motion.

Painting with Light...

In class on Tuesday we started working on our Action/Motion assignment. We took photos outside of Dr. Redmond jumping around to practice stop action and panning shots. When we went back inside we experimented with Light Painting. Light Painting is one of my favorite photographs to shoot. It's always fun to see what you can come up with in your photo after everything is done. One of my favorite shots from our class was :

I loved that I managed to actually capture the heart instead of just a bunch of light. I can't wait to shoot my photographs for my assignment!!

Getting our Feet Wet...

Today was the first day of shooting in class. Since we didn't have much time we just walked around Sanford Mall on campus and were told to shoot 3 images (one close up, one far away, and one that no one else would shoot). Considering this was the first time that I've had my camera out in weeks, I definitely enjoyed being able to shoot whatever I wanted to.

My favorite shots of the day are :

This image is of a light in front of the Bookstore. It's one of my favorites because everything is in focus, but the main focal point is the light.  I also love the difference in colors of the tree and the brick.

These flowers are some of my favorite flowers, so obviously I wanted a photo of them. I like this shot because of the way the flower is in focus, but the grass behind it is out of focus. One of the things I wish I had done differently was not shadow the flower.

I'm excited for this class and learning to use my camera more in depth. I am most excited to be able to have an excuse to go out and use my camera to photograph different things!
